An email just came in from Kearny Street Workshop. I opened it expecting another rejection. I’ve been accepted to their annual visual arts show APAture 2022 !!
The theme this year is Autonomy.
KEARNY STREET WORKSHOP
Founded in 1972, during the height of the Asian American cultural movement, Kearny Street Workshop (KSW) is the oldest Asian Pacific American multidisciplinary arts organization in the country
I submitted “Kimono 2 What We Wear (Reliquiae)” that showed recently at the National Japanese American Historical Society.
Given that this is an important AAPI art org, I feel seen, validated, encouraged, grocked. The Diaspora can be hard at time.
