Thursday, June 15th, 2017
Live Practice at YBCA is a community-oriented, monthly program that offers a platform for local and underrepresented artists.
On June 15th,2017, Live Practice at YBCA hosted feminist artist and author, Midori. For her Live Practice concept, Midori organized Queer Qraft Qamp, a communal maker event promoting social activism through craft and conviviality.
Participants flowed between several art stations including button making, protest sign collaging, and t-shirt stenciling.
Attendees created items for themselves and others that can be worn, carried, or shown at the San Francisco Pride Parade or other resistance efforts.
The event encouraged creative community and social justice engagement, honing in on the capacity of art and visual culture to catalyze social change.
